My cat carries his toys around some nights asking to play. He carries it around and the stick clicks around on the steps and hardwood floors. I'm not sure how long this has gone on but it's very possible he'll outgrow it or you'll become accustomed to the routine and stop hearing it after long. Also, 15 minutes of vigorous play to tire him out before YOU go to bed will tire him out a bit as well. Cats are generally nocturnal. My cat carries his toys around some nights asking to play.
