Whats Wrong with my psp battery?

I dont know if the problem is the psp or the battery because i cant play without connecting the charger
(but the orange light is on)and the battery display shows 3 bars but wen i take the charger off the psp turns off
the battery status(while charging)
charge level -
hours left -
power source external
battery status -
can some1 tell me wuts wrong?and if theres a way to fix pls tell meh
