can laser lights blind bugs?

I have a high powered green laser that has 100mw. I’ve tried blinding beetles, random flies, ants. It doesnt seem to do the trick, maybe i’m not doing it long enough…being the dot is so bright, its hard to focus it on a small critter for a good while especially if its moving.
